South Route - 8-days tour

Day 1. Start the route to Elbrus from the south - the town of Mineralnye Vody. Accommodation in a well- equipped hotel, which is located in a picturesque place
at an altitude of 2100 m (the famous glade Cheget). You can get to your destination in many ways: independently, with a guide on the bus or on a pre-ordered transfer. The guide meets tourists from 14.00 to 14.30.
Day 2. The beginning of the adaptation period. Acclimatization outlets are provided for acclimatization purposes to high-altitude rarefied air. To begin with,
you can choose between two campaigns: a walk to a height of 3,095 m to a mesmerizing waterfall “Devichi Kosy” and the observatory of the Russian Academy of Sciences; or at a height of 3000 m to the popular mount Cheget.
Day 3. Lifting on the cable car to the main camp "Gara-Bashi" which is at an altitude of 3750 m. Continuation of the acclimatization period. The next high-altitude climb up to 4200 m (Shelter 11) or 4400 m (rock ridge). Training master-class with the instructor: movement in “cats”, correct handling of the rope, self-retention on the snow-ice slope with the help of an ice ax. Restoration of forces in the alpine "Gara-Bashi".
Day 4. The final stage of the adaptation period is a rise to a height of 4800 m. The mountain guide will hold a lesson for all tourists on the correct location on the
mountain slopes and will teach them how to knit reliable knots. Return to the alpine camp for dinner and recovery.
Day 5. A full day for rest, walking, sightseeing. In the local history the Museum of Military Glory of the defenders of Elbrus and the Caucasian passes, one can get
acquainted with the historical events of the Great Patriotic War.
Day 6. The summit day. There are several options:
- Lifting with the help of snowcatchers to a height of 4800 m or 5100 m (the beginning of the oblique shelf). The depart from the refuge at four in the morning.
Rent a snowmobile for 9 tourists = 45 000 - 50 000 rub. (instructors do not pay rent). Vehicles will save energy and save 3 - 4 hours of climbing on foot.
- Climb on foot without special means. The minimum group consists of 3 tourists. The advance from the alpine camp at one o'clock is two in the morning. If you are interested in up to three people, an individual mountain guide is provided (paid separately). Qualified specialists will advise you with the choice of lifting,
considering the level of your physical fitness, endurance and adaptation to new conditions. All proposed upgrades are available, safe, conducted by experienced instructors using reliable climbing equipment. At the top tourists can take pictures, relax and have a bite to eat. The beginning of the return journey to the camp at 14.00 (traffic on average 4 - 6 hours). Full dinner and recovery after climbing.
Day 7. Return to the hotel "Snow Leopard" with a successful ascent. Rest on a choice: fishing, restoration of forces in baths, a walk on horses, visiting of Chegem waterfalls. And the program ends with a farewell dinner with traditional Caucasian treats, which sums up the results, and hand certificates to all participants.
Memories and impressions of the ascent will forever remain in the memory of all participants. Of course, they are not pioneers, but each of them is the conqueror of
the summit and the winner, because he broke away from the usual civilized way of life and ventured to test his strength. Reserve day in case of bad weather.
Day 8. Early morning departure of tourists by bus to Mineralnye Vody. If desired, rest can be continued (hotel accommodation is paid additionally). The shuttle
service is free of charge, except Mondays and Fridays.

The price includes:

  • Group transfer airport Mineralnye Vody - hotel in p. Terskol - Airport Mineralnye Vody. You can use the group transfer if you arrive in Minvody on the first day of the tour no later than 14.30 hours and departure on the last day of the tour no earlier than 11.15.
  • Accompanying the main guide during the whole program and guide assistants on the day of ascent at the rate of 1 guide (guide assistant) for no more than 3 participants.
  • Accommodation in the hotel "Snow Leopard", in the Cheget glade, in 2-bed or 3-bed rooms.
  • 3 meals a day at the hotel «Snow Leopard», lunch packages on the days of acclimatization exits when staying at the hotel.
  • Accommodation in the high-mountain shelter "Heart of Elbrus" at an altitude of 3850 m.
  • Three meals a day during the stay in the shelter, including the services of cooks.
  • Travel to the cable car when going to the Heart of Elbrus Shelter (in the 10-day program - also a ticket to Mir station at the acclimatization exit on the 4th day of the tour).
  • Group equipment (ropes, carbines, ice-drills).
  • Security (GPS-navigator, radios, registration in the Ministry of Emergency Situations).
  • Certificate of ascent for each participant.
  • Fee for the right to visit the National Park "Elbrus".

The price does not include:

  • Rent a snow cat (snow tractor) on the day of ascent.
  • Tickets for cablecar on Cheget.
  • Single accommodation in the hotel Snow Leopard».
  • Rental of personal equipment (cats, safety system, sticks, ice ax, etc.).
  • Personal expenses and entertainment (bath, fishing, horseback riding).
  • Climbing insurance.
  • The costs associated with changing the program according to your desire: travel from the glade Azau, additional nights in the hotel.

Notes:

* The price includes one attempt to climb. An attempt is made to leave the group together with guides from the shelter until 05:00 and climb to a height of at least 4500 m using a ratrak or to a height of 4200 meters when hiking on foot. If the attempt was unsuccessful for the whole group or individual participants (due to weather conditions or poor health)

 If the attempt was not used on the planned day of ascent (due to bad weather), then the next one (reserve day) is used at no additional charge.
